I've got a theory about those who say they're revolted by the idea of swimming in the Hudson River.

It is totally unscientific, unsupported except by observation and anecdote. But I believe that the closer you live to the river and the more you work or play on or around it, the less likely you are to be offended by taking a dip now and then in those waters.

The truly revolted can't possibly have been up close to the Hudson estuary of 2005 and smelled the sweet river bank and water's surface.
