Scholars, friends and colleagues paid a 70th birthday tribute Monday to Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan for four decades of public service as an educator, social observer, presidential adviser, diplomat and lawmaker.
``He has absolute integrity, great intelligence and range and he is not afraid to stick up for people who are up against the odds,'' said Bill Bradley, the former New Jersey senator. ``Those are the things that typify his public life.''
