NSW: Man charged over school siege
Police have charged a 31-year-old man after primary school students and their teacherwere allegedly held hostage at a school in northern New South Wales.
The man, allegedly armed with a knife, was arrested at Kootingal Primary School nearTamworth after a standoff just before school ended yesterday.
He was charged late last night with being armed with intent, detain for advantage withoutinjury, aggravated break and enter and commit felony.
Police remanded him in custody to appear before Tamworth Local Court later today.
