A more frugal utopia.

Oscar Wilde once remarked that any map of the world that does not include utopia isn't worth a glance. His wisdom has gone unheeded by the cartographers of contemporary social democracy and postmodernism who have gerrymandered utopia off the map. All the more reason that I am unrepentant about continuing to harbour normative ideas about what might constitute a sane and just society: a far greater measure of social equality, a renewal of the structures and values of human community, protection for the vulnerable and the vanishing.
